BARK is a company that specializes in all things dog. One of their products is BarkBox, a dog-toy subscription service.

Each box has a punny theme and contains two toys and two treats. Some past themes include Italian Playcation, Coral Ruff, and Bark 2 School. 

What makes BarkBox special is its unique assortment of toys. Not many other companies sell a dog-friendly boxed wine. They have toys that match every dog's personality, which is exactly what inspired the message behind this campaign.

When brainstorming this campaign, I was thinking about what dogs dream about. Do they dream about catching the mailman or eating a giant bone? Well, whatever your dog dreams about, BarkBox has a toy that will make it a reality.

Print Ads

These double-page spreads would be featured in magazines like Modern Dog, Animal Wellness, People, US Weekly and Good Housekeeping. A similar format can also be used for billboards and social ads like Instagram and Snapchat stories.

Dream Toy Design Contest

Subscribers would have the opportunity to design their very own toy in this online contest. Promoted on the BarkBox Instagram and website, those who enter the competition will post a photo of their pup(s) and their toy design with #BarkBoxDreamToy. They would also be encouraged to share the story behind their toy design. The winner would be announced one month after the contest is announced. There will be three winners, and the first-place winner's design be produced and available for purchase on the BarkShop website for a limited time! They would also win a free six-month BarkBox subscription.

PetSmart Photoshoot

In a collaboration with PetSmart, BarkBox would host pet photoshoots at select locations. Each set would be inspired by a monthly subscription box theme. Owners would be able to purchase the photos, sign up for BarkBox, and buy individual toys.

Best Friend Animal Society Partnership

For the duration of the campaign, BarkBox would partner with Best Friends Animal Society. Their mission is to make sure every shelter is no-kill by 2025. This will help ensure that every dog gets to live out their dream. This partnership would be promoted on both company's websites, and featured in a joint Instagram post.
